Piha Beach Autumn 2024
Переглядів 970Місяць тому
Piha has had some very straight swells and with so much sand the waves have been quite average for advanced surfers. We still get the odd days when the moon, stars, swell and tides all line up and there's some excitement to be had. Featured surfers: Billy Stairmand, Ava Henderson, Leia Millar, Poppy Arkle, Jai Wallis and others.

First Time Surf Lesson Piha Surf School
Sunset with the after-school groms was epic today, mid beach
Check the Lion Rock Boardriders Club channel. Some of your waves may be included.
Should I go to Muriwai or Piha for surfing?😮
Is he still surfing?
Fun session with Phil, Larissa, Natalia, Masha etc
So many drop ins that looks like Bondi
Good old keyhole. Paddled out from there many times in 6 to 8ft surf. Water seemed close to the cieling!
Wow I surfed it a few times in 89/90 got it one day in identical conditions as this film.Incredable wave it has everything, fast hollow bending bowling in that that scenic cove.Even walk was so fun.Never thought about going off the point there but heaps respects to this guy shown here doing it.I surfed all around Australia during that time. And place one of my faves along with Kirra,Noosa, little Black Rock Aussie pipe and Left-handers in W.A. R.I.P fellow surfer in time blessed to have surfed..
Life is precious.... but to lose it doing something you love..... is even more precious.....
Well done those people ! I used to love doing that sort of thing ! Now I have to pick where to set the bar for my next high jump !
Perfection and harmony to boot . ❤
My mate died years ago doing the same thing it's a very sad outcome but what can you do but be careful. Sorry for your loss god bless
You could stick to Lifeguarded beaches but of course that might raise the risk of experiencing a Shark Attack. The safest thing might be to stick with the gang. Buy a thick wetsuit. Always surf with a friend. Be aware of cross currents, rip currents. Whales !! Or maybe even get a job instead !! Of course folks might end up surfing alone. They should stick yo the beach break. Else buy a helmet and swim with a friend. Always paddling through the surf to get out the back might ebnsure an awareness of the power of the sea. Taking a short cut. By jumping off a point might end up in people taking on more they can handle !! Maybe if kids spend a lot of time at the beach they could join The Lifeguard Club ? And that way. Learn to swim safely and economically as The Club might share boards and have an equipment store .
Town & country
50 knots you wouldn't be able to stand on the beach that's about 30
What a fantastic video mate… You took me back 20 years 🤙you ripping 🌊
closing out let's get real
0:56 That's entertainment
Gee hasn't heard this music for many moons😅
I surfed Angourie in the early 60s when 4 was a crowd. Never ever considered that jump off. The paddle out from the beach was never that onerous. Plenty of sharks around however.
I came across this and thought it would show where Graeme was surfing. Then there he is. Brought a tear to the eye of someone who has survived.
Dear, your videos are very beautiful and interesting, but your videos are not SEO'ed, as a result of which you are not getting the desired views❤❤
Thank you 🙏 for not putting those stupid fuzzy video side bars and uploading the video in it's native 4:3 format. Well done.
Crazy ass Aussies. No wonder your government took away your guns lol.
Piha is the best surf break in Auckland on the West Coast 👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺
❤️ *promosm*
I've surfed Alaska , northern Maine in January and upper peninsular Michigan at Xmas...this is not polar..or bear in any way shape or category..
Dude, the event is called the polar bear classic cause it’s held in winter.
@@sevtolhurst476 I know
I so wanna learn Surfing but afraid of Sharks :((
Can’t wait to surf piha again
40 years ago the bar was all time!!!.. B4 sand mining
Looks soooooo good !
great stuff phil 😃😵💫😵💫😎😎🤓
Especially when roads are blocked off to all but locals 🙄
Unlucky brah
Some of us got through Jacintas Stasi.
Nice one Phil.
great stuff phil😃😀😎🤠👍
yes
Great video
Where is this ? Awesome !
yo this playlist is fire!
These water shots are sick
Damn, some serious drop ins at the beginning! Wonder if it was the locals or the surf school crew
Definitely nothing to do with us and the drop ins didn't look good enough to be locals. There were no parks on the beach, we'd never seen the place so busy. It was worth including in the video so that drop ins know how bad they look.
@@pihasurfschool Well it was good to see you guys put a note on the video regarding that. I live near Byron and the surf schools don't teach them surf etiquette sadly. I'll be over in a month, hope i score some good waves like i always do when i visit beautiful NZ
Great vid Phil. What camera using filming from beach.
It's a Nikon P1000
Hiya! We are the beginner couple who surfed yesterday at Piha bar. We've been watching this UA-cam channel quite often and didn't know you are the one record and upload. Big thanks for your effort to take videos and upload all of them. We hope the cut you accidentally got is alright and see you later!

This is one of the bars

Love Piha, happy memories. Hello from El Medano in Tenerife. Great training surf beach. Great for kite surfing too.
Thanks. It's a fun place to live and surf.
